چکیده

Abstract During the last few decades, bed-elevation profiles from radar sounders have been used to quantify bed roughness. Various methods employed, such as ‘two-parameter’ technique that considers vertical and slope irregularities in topography, but they struggle incorporate roughness at multiple spatial scales leading a breakdown their depiction of where relief is most complex. In this article, we describe new algorithm, analogous wavelet transformations, scales. The ‘Self-Adaptive Two-Parameter’ system calculates profile using frequency-domain method, allowing extraction three characteristic factors: (1) slope, (2) skewness (3) coefficient variation. multi-scale derived by weighted-summing these frequency-related factors. We use idealized elevations initially validate then actual data are compare index with other methods. show an effective tool for quantifying data, paving way improved continental-wide depictions incorporation information into ice flow models.

An Adaptive Multi - Scale Conjugate Gradient Method for Distributed Parameter Estimation of 2 - D Wave Equation ∗

An adaptive multi-scale conjugate gradient method for distributed parameter estimations (or inverse problems) of wave equation is presented. The identification of the coefficients of wave equations in two dimensions is considered. First, the conjugate gradient method for optimization is adopted to solve the inverse problems. Second, the idea of multi-scale inversion and the necessary conditions...

Numerical solution of nonlinear SPDEs using a multi-scale method

‎In this paper we establish a new numerical method for solving a class of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) based on B-splines wavelets‎. ‎The method combines implicit collocation with the multi-scale method‎. Using the multi-scale method‎, ‎SPDEs can be solved on a given subdomain with more accuracy and lower computational cost than the rest of the domain‎. ‎The stability and c...

Wavelength-dependent roughness: a quantitative approach to characterizing the topography of rough titanium surfaces.

Topographies of grit-blasted, etched, grit-blasted and etched, and microfabricated and etched surfaces of commercially pure titanium have been investigated. Such surface topographies vary across the scale range of interest for dental implants, extending from nanometers to millimeters. The complete characterization of topography requires the use of complementary methods. This study compared the ...
